What we do not pretend to be
A comparison is only useful if it also lists what the other tools do better. Here is where they win.
We are not a data vendor
Apollo sells access to a 230M-contact database. Our contact source, Trusted Leads’ data (about 17M contacts), is much smaller and feeds the lead scraper; most teams bring their own list by CSV, an inbound URL, the API or a CRM sync, then sequence and send from mailboxes they own. If a big database is what you need, Apollo wins here.
We are not a phone dialer
Apollo ships a native cold-call dialer. We do not. If outbound calling is your primary motion, Apollo is the right tool.
We are not charging you for AI
Instantly sells its AI as credits, a separate subscription (its Credits plans also take your own key). Here the AI always runs on your own key — Anthropic, any OpenAI-compatible provider, or self-hosted Ollama or vLLM — with no credits to buy. No lock-in on inference cost.
